TEAM "B" IS DEFINITELY "B"EING AWESOME! Winnipegs' Biggest Loser video update 1.....

Fri, 2010-02-26 22:48.
Bubba B
As you've probably heard there is a "little" competition being held all over the city to find, develop and crown Winnipeg's Biggest Loser! 60 people of various shapes, ages and sizes are divided amongst some of Winnipeg's most known celebrities and Gyms.

The contest started at the beginning of February and runs until May. The Goal? Which team will lose the most weight combined and which celebrity mentor will have all the bragging rights amongst his or her peers.

My team, appropriately called Team B, consisted of two couples: Angela & Lonnie and Tami & Jay. Over the next few weeks here on my HotBlog and on BubbaBTV on Youtube there will be videos documenting the transformation, the trials and the tribulations that each of Team B have or are going through.

Everybody who attended the "Be Yourself. Be BOLD. Be THE Change Fair Trade fashion show" earlier today at the Park Theatre. The models, the organizers(Ginny & my Co-Host Bequie) and the entire volunteers and staff at the Park Theatre.
There is a VERY cool video that the High school students put together that you can check out at www.MCIC.caand its titled "I hear your voice". Thanks to Darcy Ataman and Dow Jones for helping the students to create that fantastic song. I saw the video and I was brought to tears, seriously.

Pants on the Ground was an International Hit on Youtube and Radio stations.....

Wed, 2010-02-03 20:43.
Bubba B
But it seems that even General Larry Platt, who made a name for himself on the new season of American Idol, could be a copy-kat. It appears as though his version of the catchy internet viral song "Pants on the Ground" may have started years earlier, 13 to be exact, as "Back Pockets on the Floor". The original version even has some elderly gentlemen who appear to look similar to "the General".

Take a look and you decide for yourself if it is a copy or an original.

THEN when your done looking at that make sure you search "Pants on the Ground Winnipeg" for a HILLARIOUS ORIGINAL recording of the monster Internet hit Starring your Buddy Bubba B the MC & James Roth from the Pushing Daisies! Then check out WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/BUBBABTV and SUBSCRIBE to the channel.

RAP- RADIO- MOVIE STAR....

Mon, 2010-02-01 22:59.
Bubba B
HA HA...  What a GREAT last few days! I answered the call and headed down to the set of an "unnamed Movie", bumped into some local peeps who were also cast extras for the various scenes that day. As I sat there I knew very little about the production, the Director, the Lead Characters or Actors, Boy was I in for a Heck of a surprise!

I found out that the Director is none other than Daniel Zirilli who has shot more than 250 music videos and directed(and Acted) in SEVERAL major and indie films. He's worked with Three 6 Mafia!

I found out that one of the HEAVIES is non other than Vinnie Jones... Yup! That Vinnie Jones.. from Snatch with Brad Pitt and Lock stock and Two Smoking Barrels etc. The Craziest Brit Ever!!

Then today when I got to set I saw a familiar face, or so I thought, turns out it was'nt Fini formerly of Bonifide and currently from the Fini Files on Youtube.com. It was actually Jervis who just happens to manage some of the hottest up an coming artists, actors and MMA artists in the world... Including.. Rashad Evans of MMA fame.

TONIGHT!!! Infact... right about NOW!!!

Sooooo??? How was it? The Big Show? Tremendous I Hope!

Mon, 2010-01-04 22:44.
Bubba B
I'm not sure what the big hype over the changing of the Gregorian Calendar is every year but it seems to be a big deal for some and yet others cannot even be bothered. I remember when it was a "major organizational endeavour" in planning the New Years' Festivals an parties. Boys dressed up in clean clothes and ladies were 'in it to win it', an they usually did.
This past new years I went out and about pretty much everywhere I could with A) no Planning B) NO BIG BUDGET and C)a car load of strangers, turned out to be one of the best New Year starts I can recall.
I hope you had an enjoyable & Respectable time with your friends, family or even all by yourself because "time by yourself" is time well spent.
Enjoy!
Happy NEW Year and may 20-X be the dawn of an incredible decade of growth and prosperity for You!

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU AND.....

Wed, 2009-12-23 23:17.
Bubba B
All those that you hold dear to your heart. I have fond memories of the last year and I am shocked that its' the end of the decade as well. Some have called this the "Hurt Decade" while others have complained endlessly about the hardships they faced; we all did. The challenge is to remove the painfull or less spectacular memories and enhance the MORE Spectacular ones.
May the coming year bring joy and success to you and all your family. Peace out.... begins when there is peace In.
Happy Holidays.

IT FEELS LIKE THE 1ST TIME.....

Wed, 2009-10-21 22:32.
Bubba B
Well it actually IS my very 1st time, being nominated for the Rap/Hip-Hop Song of the Year @ the-Prestigious Covenant Awards(Gospel Music Awards) this weekend in Calgary.
The song is "Mr. Frequency" and it appears on Fresh I.E's latest release "Out the Oven". It was a fun song to record as it pushed the boundaries that Fresh had ever done before, while maintaining a "Positive message" with a raw Hip Beat.
We needed the help of Byron"the Multi Instrumentalist" to pull it all together, and apparently we've done a great job!
Hopefully I will be brining home some Hardware from Calgary this weekend(very odd and I never thought I'd ever say that sentence, but alas I just did... ), and even if I don't; it was GREAT to be nominated and Recognized on a National Level.

ARE YOU IN HIGH SCHOOL? IN A GARAGE ROCK BAND? THEN BOY DO I....

And by Stunner I don't mean walking in on your parents in the throws of Love sharing... I mean it's the 1st weekend AFTER the 1st week of school when everybody and everything is fresh 'N' new. New friends hanging out for the 1st time at the mall or skate park, texting each other as they sit in separate seats in a new movie, going to parties with the new kids etc. You know.. the FUN times before the "TRUTHS" come out i.e. they chew with their mouths open, Don't wash their hands after the bathroom or even regularly for that matter, Try to steal your clothes etc.

This weekend is also the Sherbrooke Street festival between Westminister and Wosley. It goes from Noon till 11pm and @ just after 1:20pm your good buddy Bubba B will be taking the stage with Sketch Williams for a live Mini-Performance. Okay Ladies.. begin the screaming Now!

Don't Like Whatever Your Looking At? ...... Change it!

Thu, 2009-09-10 19:07.
Bubba B
Wow.. When I was a kid growing up in the Wild West anytime there was a problem or a challenge with my visual surroundings, I was taught to change them. Whether it was my brother & sisters, the neighborhood kids or the Television channel; I learned to 'change' it. Now, I learned several ways to accomplish this, everything from going into another room of the house to going outside if they were inside. I could change my surroundings and it was sometimes even as simple as closing my eyes. Apparantly some people never learned these simple and inexpensive techniques and have designed 'life altering glasses' for everyday use. Check it out & Check Back soon for more of my HotBlog! OMG JUSTIN BIEBER IN PEG CITY??? COULD IT BE TRUE??

Thu, 2009-09-03 22:56.
Bubba B
It all started with a random phone call, which led to an amazing amount of calls, all people letting me know that the 'Great Young One' Justin had been spotted HERE in Peg-City. As the night has gone on the calls and texts blew up and everyone who has been following Justin on Twitter let me know that he did in-fact "Tweet" that he was in Winnipeg chilling with his "peeps"(Dad?) and that he was gonna check out a movie over in Polo Park. I know what its like to just be hanging out on the 'D.L.' and not really thinking about work, so I don't know if he will contact the station tonight or tomorrow during Ace & Chrissys' show, But I would make sure that You keep it locked on Hot103 to hear if he does pop into the station or decides to call in.

Fun, Fun in the Summer Sun!

Mon, 2009-08-31 22:08.
Bubba B
Well my apologies to all those who planned to 'make it a memory' weekend out at the RockFest and were told last minute that it was cancelled. I made it actually up to the site and surveyed the concert that never was. The weather was exactly as I said it would be; Perfect! I even captured some video so you will be able to see what I saw when I was up there, look for it on youtube 'BubbaBTV' soon. Lets' look forward, shall we? I wanted you to have a tremendous weekend and make it a memory with someone you love or someone that loves you, did you do it? Did it happen? I hope so.

The Summer months of vacation are gonna be officially over in under 100 minutes from the time I started this blog entry, and yes it was a lot of rain and cloud cover, however I enjoyed myself everyday this summer and I know you could've too; it was a choice. As you get ready for the grinds of schedules and carpools make a conscious choice to reflect on the great and good things that happened this summer, instead of the Doom, Gloom, Weather and Deaths that seemed to plague it.

As your getting ready for school and attempting to re-invent yourself or your look take a moment and check out the photo entitled "All Girls are Beautiful".

This photo attached was taken at a competition in June 2006. The competition was between 9 women for best makeover. They had every possible beauty treatment available to them over a period of 12 hours before the contest. Look at the before and after photos.

BIG Bubba B shoutouts...

Mon, 2009-08-17 21:50.
Bubba B
.. To YOU, YOU, YOU and definitely YOU!
This last weekend was a busy and eventful time for your buddy Bubba. It started off on Friday at the IRCOM annual Community Celebration with Djs Nemo and Sandwich on the 1s & 2s, fresh samosas and butter chicken to eat, performances by Les D's, Crossing Communities Allstars and the little kids who sang, danced and had FUN for prizes. The forecast called for rain all evening so we moved the event inside and then not one drop of rain fell! But boy was it hot and humid in the gym. Everyone had a great time and really showed there support for the community over at IRCOM. Thanks to all the volunteer and coordinators who make it possible, Noelle and Marcie especially.

On Saturday was the 3rd annual Central Park Revival aka C.P.R. and It was ok... The Music sounded great, as usual thanks to Dj Bunny and Greg from Crazy Maiden Rock Shop, however the Weather would'nt co-operate in enough time. By the time we called it a day and had packed up 85% of the equipment and gave away all the food, the Sun came out and made it a beautiful evening. Thanks so much to all the volunteers and coordinators who helped to bring the dream to fruition. Britany, Othello, Janet, Tyler, Bill, Erin and all the other extended family of the C.P.R. Team. Next year will be our 4th year and it will be the best thus far because our collective dream of having a safe and nice park for everybody will be completed. The renovations are underway and its gonna be spectacular!

Bubba B + Molson Bubba Keg + the Pushing Daisies = One MegaTon KEG!!!!

Wed, 2009-07-29 22:28.
Bubba B
OOOOWWWWEEEE!!!! You know thats' gonna be one Heck of a Explosion at the ZOO (in Osbourne) this Friday night when I team up with the Daisies and Rock the Stage! You can't buy your way in but you definitely can sign up on the Pushing Daisies Facebook Page or my Facebook FanPage(Bubba B the MC) and win your way in to see us shred the Mega Keg. Do it now and spread your chances out over two days... There will be random selections with all new adds.

I was strolling along the World Wide Web and stumbled across one of the most genius and spectacular things I've seen in a very long time. You can check it out and let me know if you think the same.

This first one shows the passion and love that people have for the Late Great Michael Jackson....

LIVING ON THE FRINGE...PART 2 TOMORROW NIGHT!!!! @ OLD MARKET SQUARE.

Thu, 2009-07-23 21:47.
Bubba B
Tomorrow Night at 7pm will be the blast off on a musical journey rich with sound and lights. I will be performing original material, classics off my previous recordings and Brand NEW Tracks with a Live band. The location is the Old Market Square Main-stage (corner of Bannatyne and King street downtown) and the musical guests on stage with Yours Truly include: The Pushing Daisies, Fen-om, Alexa the Female Beat-Boxer and many surprise artists.
Woodstock the Original was almost 40 years ago and we will attempt to bring the energy, love, vibes and music to life, infront of you on stage, tomorrow night.
There will be a second show featuring material off of the Pushing Daisies new album "Your Devils and Your Angels" at 11pm to shut down the Fringe After-Dark stage.

Once in a Lifetime Performance with....

Fri, 2009-07-17 22:10.
Bubba B
&The Pushing Daisies and the incredible Flo last night on the Main-stage of Fringe after Dark. Right in the middle of it dawned on me that 40 years ago(three weeks from now) was the original Woodstock concert that shaped alot of the world musically. The peeps who were there last night enjoyed themselves, I'm sure, and the ones who were skeptical were standing with ovation when the set was done. The energy was intense and the vibes were definitely right for a 'Once In A Lifetime' performance similar to the acts that hit the stage that summer in 1969. I honestly don't know if it could be ever re-created or re-enacted, however next Friday @7pm on the same Main-stage @ Old Market Square(Downtown)we will do our best to knock it out the park. If you are unable to make it to the early show, make sure your there for the 11pm show that same night!

Well aside from being a certified 40 gallon hat wearing song slinger from the Wild Wild West, I do like to live on the Fringe of Life... It's way more exciting. One of my big thrills is performing LIVE for audiences of any size, from 1 person to 100 Million people. I love it. Now when the Fringe festival comes around and I get involved, it gives me a little extra kick because I am surrounded by truely talented people.
Tomorrow Night (Thursday July 16th @ 11pm) I will be performing in-front some of the most seasoned professional artists and patrons on the Main-Stage @ Old Market Square during 'Fringe After Dark'. Not only will there be great international talent in the crowd, I will be sharing the stage with 2 of Winnipegs' most potent LIVE performers; Flo and the Flosoul Band(Fresh from her performances @ the Soca Reggae Fest) alongside The Pushing Daisies.
Absolutely Incredible. The Energy will be Electric and one of those 'once in a lifetime' performances is bound to happen. Think the ground breaking performances at Woodstock 40 years ago this Summer.

Be there and Get your weekend of Fringing off to a Great Start.
Peace Out.

WHAT'S A SURE SIGN SUMMER FUN HAS BEGUN??

Tue, 2009-07-14 21:56.
Bubba B

The first sign is the roads falling apart, however that can happen at anytime in the year(as I've discovered)so that is'nt a Bonifide sign. I'm talking about the catalyst that SCREAMS!!! "Summer in the Sun!!" and no other event says it like Soca Reggae Fest. The 2009 version is in the can and if you missed it, shame on you! But there is hope for your redemption, alas you have but a mere 361 more sun-ups and downs to wait. Mark it on your calendar now!
Huge big Bubba B shout outs to all the Organizers, Vendors, Sponsors, Performers and Attendees' who took in the Sounds of the Caribbean during the Urban Oasis known as Soca Reggae Fest 2k9. Look forward to seeing and working with you all again next year! S.R.F2010!

Another yearly fail-safe indicator that Summer has arrived is the Mosquitos; there is no escaping them so why not embrace them while sailing on the Red River on the Naughty Nauticals yearly Caribbean Cruise coming up this weekend! More details to come, Check back soon!

And by Chef I mean 'The' Chef; Raekwon from the wildly popular Wu-Tang Clan! After his performance in the city last Friday I now know why he is definitely one of the best loved members of the clan. His voice is so sick and recognizable, the classics filled everyone in attendance with joy as they retraced their love affair with the Wu. Able to spend some time chatting and picking the mind of this incredible artist was a dream come true. I will post some of the interview right here on my HotBlog & on YouTube.com/BubbaBTV. Check back soon!

wow. So many imaginary conversations I wanted to have with him. So many dance routines I worked out in my head and in-front of mirrors with the hopes of performing them with/for him. I remember hearing the creaking door of Thriller for the very 1st time and how I felt when I first saw that video. Do You? 26 years later and hundreds of Millions of albums sold and his candle has been extinguished. Wow.

Today was the greatest day of my professional radio career; I played many timeless hits from the master and I was able to play the ENTIRE Thriller album, Top to Bottom, on Top 40 popular radio. A format that he helped shape and ultimately change, forever. I always thought that I'd get to see him Live and experience the hysteria that his shows caused. I even planned on going to England to see his farewell tour this summer, however his summer tour only lasted 4 days.

... Everyone who came down to the Teddy Bear Picnic at Assiniboine Park yesterday and took in the great shows on the Lyric stage. I was down there performing with Sketch Williams, Fresh I.e and the whole International Swagger Band. It was our first time performing all together with the band and we played some favorites like "Girl with the Pretty Name", "Ms.Lovely" and the brand new SummerTime song. To all the Event staff who made sure we were all comfortable and secure (tha personal bodyguards were an excellent touch)and sounding great on stage. To Tracy from Shaw for getting me involved in the choosing of their big winner for the day. Everybody that stuck around afterward and got their "City in the Clouds" CD and autographs were very cool. Happy Birthday Jenny! Thanks to Don Dudar from Canadian Crown entertainment for the pics and video. If you were there and or know someone who was there and they got pictures or video.. make sure you send it to my email and we'll show them on BubbaBTV on youtube.

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE YEAR ITS' BEEN! read on to find out more....

Wed, 2009-05-27 21:55.
Bubba B
Well I was reminiscing over the last few days, as I do from time to time especially around my new years. I realized it was a year ago on Monday(25th) that I met the Pushing Daisies at the Kanye West Pre Party at Blush for the 1st time. It was also that day that we 1st performed together and created the idea for Blood on The Dancefloor. Who knew that less than a year later that idea would be a full fledged song, on an album (Your Devils and Your Angels)and that it would be seen and heard by millions on Hockey Night in Canada during the playoffs!
(Check it out... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4w8hooTSbMI&feature=channel_page)

Another special event happened that same night one year ago when the first single from Sketch Williams('Girl with the Pretty Name) feat. Fresh I.e and yours truly was performed for the very 1st time live! One year later and that song has grown from a single being played only on Hot103 in Winnipeg to being in the top40 songs played on over 9 commercial stations across Canada. Now that same song is in the top 5 on the #1 college station, in the #1 Radio market in the U.S.! New York Baby! It's also playing on over 130 other stations across the United States.

AS PROMISED Blood on the Dancefloor during Hockey Night in Canada...

Wed, 2009-05-20 22:14.
Bubba B
On the weekend of May the 9th I was in Toronto passing time at an East Side Marios, when I heard a familiar song playing during the hockey highlights. I was totally caught off guard and I ran to the big screen like a little kid with Barney on T.V. There, during the highlight reel was an INCREDIBLE montage of the matchup about to happen between the Vancouver Canucks and Blackhawks; set to the song "Blood on the Dancefloor" featuring me! The song is on the Pushing Daisies newest album 'Your Devils and your Angels' an @ Myspace.com/bubbabmc.
Here is the link to the youtube page and I will also include the link to the Coaches Corner segment where Ron Maclean and Don Cherry are talking about the Album. Very Cool. Very Awesome.

Feel free to share it. Enjoy!

Here's A little Video showcasing the Horror over at Gordon Bell High in Winnipeg

Tue, 2009-05-05 22:49.
Bubba B
Here is the video of Gordon Bell High Schools concrete snowy playing field. I was there for the Harlem Globetrotters Motivational interaction with the students. I really can't even imagine going to school, either grade k-12, and not being able to go outside during my recess or lunch break and chill with my friends on the grass. Even those days when I was feeling the pressure of exams or peers I would go outside, take off my shoes and sit in the shade or walk on the grass and feel the blades between my toes. The students at Gordon Bell don't get to do that. By sheer Blessings alone the car dealership DIRECTLY NEXT DOOR to the school has closed and the lot has opened up. This is a NO-Brainer. Watch the video, look outside your windows, then watch the video again. Lets' Get it Done. No Excuses. Every Child deserves to play on soft grass.

The Pushing Daisies "Ride" (Featuring Yours Truly)Video Shoot was....

Wed, 2009-04-29 21:54.
Bubba B
TREMENDOUS!!! Thanks to John and all the amazing students at Argyle School for their vision, patience and direction. The day started as usual for me, wake up at 7am, however it would be a day like no other. I headed over to the CBC broadcast building on Portage ave downtown and was escorted to Studio 41 where we would be shooting for the day. I took a breath in and released it slow, focused and then headed in. I was greeted by smiles and a Huge Blue screen.. which sorta sucked.. because we were told not to wear anything Green due to the "white out effect" it would cause against the Green screen. I wore the right colored top but blue jeans; and so did EVERYBODY else. We took a break an all ran to our special stores to purchase new jeans/outfits, and I had the pleasure of shopping with James Roth at George Richards Big and Tall. First time in a really long time I had a Big and Tall shopping date.. ha ha. We headed back and got down to the business, after some false starts and equipment challenges we were up and rolling; and boy did we roll. In-between the laughter, water, muffins and heat we got 6hours of solid takes and video which will now be transformed into something 'magical and mystikal' courtesy of the Great Students at Argyle and their teaching staff. It will all be done digitally and with some incredible stop animation techniques. I can hardly wait to see the end result... and I know you want to see it too so check back here soon and I'll tell you when it will premiere. Talking about Premieres.. This SATURDAY MAY 2ND inside the PARK THEATRE doors open at 7pm SHOW STARTS AT 8PM SHARP the Pushing Daisies will be releasing their NEW album "Your Devils and Your Angels" with special performances by: Jeff Drieger, Flo and ME Bubba B!

Bubba B and the Pushing Daisies Shooting their VERY 1st Video....

Mon, 2009-04-27 22:52.

Yup! It's true.. the time has finally come to shoot the groundwork for what will become 'the' video off the Daisies Brand New Album "Your Devils and Your Angels". The fellas and I teamed up with an awesome bunch of talented students over at Argyle School and the Green Screen shoots are Tomorrow Morning, they will last all day! Very Exciting. The possibilities with digital technology are limitless and potentially VERY funny. Check back here to find out when the premiere will be. ALSO... Don't forget that The Pushing Daisies Official CD release party will be THIS Saturday(May 2nd, 2009) inside the Park Theatre on Osbourne st. The doors open at 7pm and the show begins promptly at 8pm. The show is ALL AGES! If your ready to dance, scream, shout and definitely jam out to some great music..MAKE SURE YOU ARE THERE!

BUBBA B the HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS & GORDON BELL HIGH SCHOOL...

Thu, 2009-04-09 23:34.
Bubba B
Today I had the pleasure of introducing the legendary Harlem Globetrotters at Gordon Bell high school. It was a childhood dream come true. I remember watching ABC's Wild World of Sports and the Harlem Globetrotters cartoon every Saturday Morning. Now I am hanging out with Buckets and the Legend Curly Neal giving positive insight to the kids at the school. Awesome. I even got to watch the new generation of activists who are joined in the fight to get some green space for the kids to play on. See, Gordon Bell does'nt have a 'real' playground... they have a concrete 'field' which is snowed and iced over. The school has over 900 students and none of them have the opportunity to play sports on some real grass... that is the exact opposite of Awesome. EVERY kid deserves grass to play on, to be inspired by and to relax and put their life into perspective on. Lets' get it done. There is a huge empty lot right next door to the school which used to be Midway Chrysler and it would be PERFECT for a Baseball Diamond, a football field and a Track for some running, walking etc. EXERCISE! There is no reason why every other High school I've been too has a field and Gordon Bell does'nt. Call your area representative and or Government official and get it done. We Gotta Make It Happen! Peace.

One Thousand Four Hundred Sixty One Days.....

Mon, 2009-03-30 22:35.
Bubba B
... Ago I made a life changeing move, with NO definitive Plan other than to stay "Where I'm Going for a week". Well that was one heck of a week and now I'm still here. Spectacular!! I'm talking about my 12hour drive to Winnipeg "For the Junos and to record my follow up to The Good Life Album". Here I am now on the Citys' #1 Hit music station, I'm all over some of the hottest local artists albums and projects, I've become an ambassador to this great city, had lunch with the Mayor, Premier and other High level dignitaries, joined charitable organizations, performed on the same stage as several industry heavy-weights and turned all the Negative into Positives. Perfection! Thanks to all the Really Cool People I have met thus far and I look forward to meeting all the others' that I have'nt met yet.

Up in Northern Manitoba at Cross Lake and In 12" of SNOW!!!!

Tue, 2009-03-10 22:15.
Bubba B
Yup it's true.. I was back up in Cross Lake Manitoba last week and I had yet another spectacular time with all the lovely people up there. I was on the road with Fresh I.e, Tru Serva and Kingdom Musics' newest Artist; Sadie (from the Lil' Diciples). It was my 2nd time up there and it was a little more cramped but we got up there and we did it in record time; safely. Right from the very 1st moment we arrived we were received with open arms, smiles and hot cooked food. We performed at the school gym for a couple hundred parents and kids and I signed at least that many posters, hands, jerseys, hats and jackets.... Then we headed over to the Arena.. WOW!! Apparantly it was the 50th annual Trappers' Days and Everybody who was'nt at the first venue was definitely in the Arena. It was packed up and there were different people competing in a Moose or Goose calling contest. Of course I got tricked into entering it, much to the amusement of all the Elders and Pros who do this thing all day everyday. I took to the stage and "Channeled my inner moose" and let'er rip. I thought I did pretty darn good for someone who has never even seen a moose up-close, muchless called one to "Come on over here buddy!". EVERYBODY laughed, some people fell out of their chairs, others hung their heads and shook them in pure disgust at what I had just done to their historical craft. LoL. The next day we were on the local radio and they asked me to recreate the magic from the night before with my moose call live on the radio, which I did. Not a great idea because apparantly someone was laughing so hard when then heard it that they were distracted from driving and crashed into a live moose!! Ouch! The show we did that night at the school was even bigger than the night before and EVERYBODY had a great time. We headed back over to the Arena and for the 1st time in my professional performance career I experienced the "Mob Mentality" of a crowd. I had more pictures taken, signed more autographs and was followed around (literally everywhere I went..even the Bathroom!)by more people than I ever have before. AWESOME!! Big Shout out to all my new friends and Family out in Northern Manitoba! Can hardly wait to get back up to see all of you later this summer with the Brand New Bubba B Album!

BLACK HISTORY MONTH "CHANGE.. A DREAM REALIZED!"

Tue, 2009-03-03 00:50.
Bubba B
Well.. February 2009 is one for the history books!!! From my own personal perspective I have never felt so proud to be a person of Caribbean-African descent. With the historical events that happened in the US and what I noticed within the global shift of conciousness; I am so entirely blessed. Last Friday I hosted an event at the University of Winnipeg during the lunch hour and it was tremendous. We had live performances from Dj L-Boogie Down, the Creative Dance Crew, Prof. Steve Kirby and a surprise performance from Fenom from Bonifide. It was Awesome. There was free food and admission so EVERYONE that was there was greatful. The organizing team of Lorraine and crew were great! It was their first foray into the promotions and event planning field and it went off without a hitch, except there was a No-show from Shimmy King( Where are you?).

Tue, 2009-02-24 23:04.
Bubba B
YUP!!! It's true. You can officially hate me now! Not only was I Hosting the party for the Biggest R&B act of all time this last weekend at the Burton Cummings, I used Wanyas' Mic AND got a photo with the 3 fellas. Wow. They Hit the stage at moments after 9pm and the next time I even bothered about time was 10:20! Just under 100 minutes of INCREDIBLE music that flowed seemlessly; and they were'nt even at the Encore yet. The entire set brought me back to a time in my life when I can honestly say I fell in Love(professionally) with music. Every song touched on a special note from a special time in my life. Awesome. I've never seen a line-up at the Burt', muchless down the street and around the corner! While on stage I remember looking up and seeing it packed up to the 3rd row balcony, which I had'nt seen yet. The Opening Acts : Chad Pollet, NDU and Flo and her FloSoul Band were a perfect fit for the evening. Their performance was tremendous, except for all the crowd chatter during. Every song brought the majority of concert goers' to their feet. Girls were crying, fellas were smiling and the energy was intense, even after almost 20 years of doing their thing. These Boyz are truly Pros'.

The Most Important Black History Month Ever!.. and GroundHog day too!!

Mon, 2009-02-02 23:07.
Bubba B
Right off the bat.. Happy Birthday to all the February Babies! Shout out to all the Year of the Ox babies! And a HUGE shoutout and Hug to all the GroundHogs out there that get woken up in the middle of winter and Man-Handled by strangers! Ha Ha.. Now something Important.... This maybe the most important Black History month ever! For the very 1st time since Black History Month has been celebrated there is an African American Man at the head of the table, of the most influencial Democracy in the world. "In 1926 Carter G. Woodson decided to celebrate "Negro History Week" during the second week of February because it marked the birthdays of two Americans who greatly influenced the lives and social condition of African Americans: former President Abraham Lincoln and abolitionist Frederick Douglass. Part of the aim of Black History Month is to recognize significant contributions to society made by black slaves and how their history is integral to mainstream narratives".

NOTORIOUS... BUBBA B!

Thu, 2009-01-29 23:00.
Bubba B
"Notorious"the movie is out right now in a very select few theatres in Winnipeg, much less, Canada. It is a very underated movie starring unknown actors, except for the beautiful and very talented Angela Bassett. Who in a word is; Timeless. I'm unsure if the reason it's not getting more attention is because we're here in Canada and the Marketing companies think that "we don't care about dead rappers in the U.S." Or because the Marketing Reps did'nt know how to place the movie prominently. I am amazed at how fluid the movie is and how it keeps my attention while still containing a positive message lodged in-between tragedy. I have shamelessly seen it 4 times(I've probably only seen Star Wars that many times...lol) and they were all at 1st tier theatres, not the cheap seats. The unknown actors are all great and there is'nt a poor performance by anyone. I suggest you drop the 8-10 dollars and see it before it too is gone too soon.

Hey.. Hows' your History skills?? Are you able to recall or visually pick out pictures of our previous Leaders? or even our current Prime Minister? What about American History and all 43 of their previous Presidents? I know it's hard enough to recall the names of your teachers in school last year. ha ha...Well... It was bound to happen; someone took an incredible amount of dedicated time to research an digitally morph all the presidents from the past into the present one, and it looks awesome when you actually see what all the previous Presidents looked like. Enjoy! B. http://www.flixxy.com/presidents-morphing.htm

I was instructed at one time in my life that wanting to "Grow up to be the first Black President" was an unachievable goal. One reason was because I was informed that by me being born in Canada it automatically excluded me. Second reason was because I was infact, Black; There had never been someone of color even close to the Presidency at that time in my life. Later on in my growth and development I was filled with hope and promise for the likes of Rev. Jesse Jackson or Colin Powell ascending to the highest seat in the land, only to watch them get blocked, railroaded or riddled with scandal. I must admit that there was a little dimming of the light of hope that burned in my spirit. I've had heated debates with people I respected, admired, and worked with concerning the prospects of there being a Man(or Woman)of color in the White House. Some of those conversations ended well and others, not so well. Let all doubt and discussion FINALLY rest. Not only is Barack Hussein Obama the gate keeper to the new vision of the 21st century, He is the first African American to hold the highest office and the first person of colour to lead any major industrialized democracy.

2008... best year ever? so far 2009 is shaping up to be as Spectacular...Or Better.

Well I don't know about you or what you got into this New Years Eve however, we're 24 hours in and I have'nt stopped smiling! The "post Christmas Glow" has carried over into New Years Evening and even bubbled over into a brand new year! The Hope and Peace Concert at the Westminister United Church was a moving experience, enjoyed by all in attendance. I performed with the legendary Steve Kirby and his jazz ensemble. There were young and old, affluent and downtrodden; yet they all revelled in the prospect of a Peaceful new year. This year is already shaping up to be the biggest of my life and my career. I hope that it is tremendous for all of you and your loved ones. Peace Be with all of us this year; may Growth be measured by more than our bank accounts, waistlines, square footage, Rims size and volume of conversations.

WOW!!! IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME ONCE AGAIN....

... And all the usual suspects are showing up. The rosey faced kids who are peering out their windows wondering "is the snow deep enough to go to the hill yet?".. And the Mom in the Multi Person Vehicle(MPV or Suv) who is attempting to fit into a parking spot clearly half the size of her, muchless the vehicle she's driving. lol. There's also Speedy McZoom-Zoom who basically "LOSES THEIR MIND" caught behind snow clearing machines who are clearing a path so that commuters, like them, can get on with their travels; safely.(Relax.. Take a breath) There is also the people who are EXTREMELY happy and helpful for the month of December, or especially the last two weeks and yet the other 11 months are bitter, miserable, sad :( and would'nt put you out if you were on fire. I have a few suggestions and observations...

Christmas Bells are ringing...so are cash registers!

Well let me start by saying "Thanks" to all the great people down at Computer Trends, and in particular, Ryan. It took a little time and few "false starts", however today I was able to surf the internet from the HomePad; for the very 1st time. Originally setting out to get some extra memory for my existing computer and to say " Hi" to Chrissy Troy(who was live on location), I was blindsided by the Huge selection of small, medium and very Large screen T.V.s, not even to mention the vast amount of computers, accesories and Laptops. If that was'nt enough, Then I was put on to "The Ryan" who put me at ease and by the end of our visit, had me potentially on the hook for several brand new items. I took the time to weigh my options and I never make rash purchases, especially at this time of the year, because everything looks, sounds and is priced "right". After a few days, which turned into about a week, I was able to work out the glitches and Now I am Connected to the World Wide Web!! TaaaDAA!!! Tremendous. Thanks Guys!

The Coolest Thing I've seen In a VERY long time...

My 1st REAL Christmas Party...

This last weekend(Nov 28th), I had the pleasure of joining some really cool people celebrating the great company that we all work for. The 2nd Annual Astral Media Christmas Party was a Hoot! It was at the historic Fort Garry Hotel in the Grand Ballroom and Everyone was there( missed you K.D.). I'm very proud and honored to work closely with so many seasoned professionals and Entertainers. It was also refreshing to finally see the 'other cogs' in this incredible machine. We all had dinner, dessert, beverages, laughter and conversation; there was even dancing! The D.J. did an great job and played music that, at one point or another, appealed to most everyone(imagine his job... being a Dj... in a room full of DJs..playing the music that we the DJs play or played 1st; talk about performance anxiety!). The customer service was impeccable(Shouts out to: Theo, Julio and the whole team) and they even found our table some Hot Sauce! It was also an opportunity to pause & reflect over these last 120 days of Hottness with awe and wonder; while looking forward to the 'Oh-so Hot' future- knowing that I can't pause for too long; Gotta keep it moving, gotta keep making and playing that Great music!

I told you I was SPECTACULAR!! and SOOO glad to be alive...

...And this is why... as I stated in my last "HotBlog", there was an opportunity for me to be "Dead" right now..No more hot9@9, no more hot music fresh from the recording studio, no more shows or tours, no more phone calls or texts to and from the ones I love and that Love me, no more sun rises and beautiful sunsets and definitely no more HotBlogs! Thankfully I listened to my hungry belly and convinced Marcus (aka Tru-Serva)to grab some grub with me or else we would've been in the car when the ice fell on the roof, and crushed it! No warning, no heads-up, no screetching tires or any indication; just one second laughing and joking around, then the next second; Gone. You can check out the full story in Fridays'(Nov 14th,2008)Winnipeg Sun on page 5. There are some actual pics taken after we arrived back on the scene and moved the vehicle inside the garage. In the words of T.I. " live your life".. and make sure you enjoy it because It was re-affirmed for me earlier this week. Peace out..

"BUBBA!! WHERE THE HECK YOU BEEN??"

One of the GREAT things about being an Entertainer, moreso a Hip Hop Artist, is that I get to bring my artform front and center to many people who LOVE the music; yet know nothing about the history or culture. Another GREAT thing is that I get to see the ORIGINAL message of Hip-Hop music shared and told by many who were'nt even alive when it first was borne. This Past weekend I was hosting and Participating in the Pink Party, which was in celebration of the Aboriginal Awards, held right here in Winnipeg. I got to hang out with International Artists like RedCloud(Hawthorne, L.A.), OzzTwelve(Van-City) and local acts Team Rezofficial bringing the Heat. The very next day(actually only a few hours later) I piled into a car with 3 other grown men and we headed North to Cross Lake where we held workshops for all the grade-schools then performed a huge concert for the whole community! The place was rocking well past the original end-time, and with signing autographs on shoes, hats', jerseys and pretty much anything else that held onto ink we were there well after Midnight!

DAWN OF A NEW DAY....

If you did'nt know; Now you know!! ANYTHING is possible! Dreams' are yours to be enjoyed and Materialized. President Elect Barack Obama has inspired a Legion of non-believers and turned the thoughts of Millions (literally) around. I myself am inspired to reach beyond simply dreaming of great things and accomplishing little things; to Dreaming the Spectacular and Doing the Same. Thank you to everyone who Voted in this past U.S. Election. Thanks to Senator John Mccain for bowing out so graciously. Thanks to all the media that covered the election. Thanks to all those that dared to dream, the "impossible" dream and helped it become reality. I am still in awe and floating off the buzz. I am so glad to be alive in this day and age. Aren't You?? Peace out.. Enjoy!

HOLY SMOKES!!! Is this a GREAT time to be Alive and Free!! I secretly hoped that this day would come, however I never thought that it would happen when I was young and able to "really soak it all in". What I am directly talking about is the Incredible event that is taking shape in the U.S. The Election is (literally) moments away from being decided and I'm sure that EVERYONE in the country is glued to their Radios', computers and televisions right now to await the out-come. I know many people around the World and right here in 'the Geographical Center of North America' (Winnipeg)are eagerly anticipating a positive result. I want to give a shout out and show some love for all the friends, family, aquaintances and allies that I have all accross the U.S.A for showing such courage and vision to see that the possibility for change exists.

I got to reconnect with Friends, Family and several Business contacts within the Music Industry at the Western Canadian Music Awards in E-town. There is soooo much to tell EVERYONE about.. however there is only soo much time...lol. If you want to know more.. give me a call on air when I'm on and I will gladly let you know all the juicy details!! Peace out and keep it locked, it's Hot!! B.B.mc
