This video is catching on like wildfire on the Internet.  He's ben dubbed "The Trolololo Guy".  This clip will be circulatiing for the next year in videos all over the Internet as it becomes the new Rick Roll.  Move over Rick Astley, this delighful Russian is on the case!

California Dreams

Who remembers the show California Dreams?  Anybody?  Well, I do.  I used to watch it every Saturday.  And you know who else remembers California Dreams.  Jimmy Fallon.  That's why he decided to give up on his dream of reuniting the cast of Saved By The Bell and reunite the cast of California Dreams instead.

Oh...and get them to perform the theme song to the show live with The Roots.  Amazing!!

I've been at this all day, and I can't seem to stump this fella.  Akinator, the web genius as he calls himself is able to guess whoever or whatever you are thinking of in 20 questions.  Chewbacca, Gwen Stefani, Elaine from Seinfeld, Aladdin, Betty Rubble, Gavin Rossdale, whatever else you can think of.  HE GETS IS EVERY TIME!!!!!  It's bending my mind into a pretzel.  I don't think I can go on.

2nd Annual Manitoba Film and Music Showcase

This Sunday, January 31, Manitoba Film and Music is hosting the 2nd Annual Manitoba Film & Music Showcase, brought to you by Rogers. 

The event runs from 2-4 PM at the Centennial Concert Hall.  Doors open at 1 PM.

It's a FREE public event filled with multiple genres of music, film and television entertainment, including local music acts, The Weakerthans, Grand Analog, Romi Mayes, Fred Penner, Nathan, JP Hoe, Harlequin, Billy Joe Green, Quinzy, Daniel ROA, Domenica, Paper Moon, and Record of the Week Club with Mike Petkau.

Classified's "Oh...Canada" finally has a music video.  If this doesn't make you proud to be Canadian, I don't know what will.  Here's hoping this gets some play during the Olympics in a few weeks.  How awesome would it be if Canada walked out to this at the opening ceremonies.

Something You Might Not Know About Orianthi

She is an outstanding guitar player.  She was Michael Jackson's guitar player for the This Is It Concerts, and on her album "Believe" she has an instrumental song with guitar legend Steve Vai in which she shreds like a mad-woman.  The video for that is below.

This weekend on Locals Only, we play a whole bunch of songs that made Winnipeg Music in 2009 so great.  Let's hope that 2010 makes an even better impact on my ear drums!

Team Canada Olympic Men's Hockey Roster Set

The day is here.  Team Canada's Olympic Men's Hockey Roster has been announced.  

I strongly disagree with the lack of Mike Green on the roster.  He's the most offensive defenceman the NHL has seen since Paul Coffey.  A MUST HAVE for the team.  People are worried about his defensive liabilities, but in the 2009 NHL season Mike Green is a +15, while Scott Niedermeyer, who was named the Captain of the team is a -10.  You tell me where the defensive liablilities are.

Another issue I have is the inclusion of Marleau and Thornton.  These guys have turned into ghosts every year in the NHL playoffs causing their team an early exit.  They were also no better than pylons at the 2006 Olympics.  There is no doubt they are regular season studs, but when it comes to the big show where the lights are on bright, these guys don't show up.  Prove me wrong kids, prove me wrong.

Zacariah wins a Grammy!

A Philippine Grammy, but a Grammy nonetheless.  Winnipeg's own Chris DeGuzman, who performs under the name Zacariah won an AWIT Award in the the Philippines last Monday.

He walked away with PEOPLE'S CHOICE FAVORITE NEW MALE RECORDING ARTIST.

Michael Jackson Tribute Song

The digital age has certainly changed things.  Back when the Notorious B.I.G. died, Puff Daddy put out a tribute song called "I'll Be Missing You" which featured Faith Evans and 112 on his album No Way Out.  Today, Diddy teamed up with some members of the hip-hop and R&B community to release a tribute song for Michael Jackson.

Questions about The Unborn

Judging by the previews I have seen, the upcoming film "The Unborn" looks like it will scare me a little.

However, these same previews also leave me questioning two huge plot holes that I know are not going to be addressed in the movie.

In the film, a girl in her late teens-early twenties is being haunted by her unborn twin brother who died when they were still both in the womb. 

Why is the ghost of the brother a small child? 

He should either be a baby, because he died when he was a baby, or he should be the same age as his sister because they are twins.  Why on earth is he a six year old?  Is it because kids are scary?

And then, as if this six-year-old ghost wasn't bad enough.  Why is he dressed like he's a school boy from the 1920's.  He would have been born in the late 80's or early 90's and no kid in that time period dressed like that regardless of if they were heading to school or not.
