I was watching some Paralympic Games action yesterday and discovered a fantastic new sport. New to me anyway. I had never watched a Visually Impaired Alpine event before. To be honest, it had never really occured to me what it would look like. It's incredible. There's a wonderful Canadian athlete named Viviane Forest, who to this point has already filled her backpack with multiple medals at these games and has World Cup titles already to her credit. On top of that, she has double gold medals in Goalball (google it. it's awesome) in two previous Summer Games. Clearly, she's a great athlete, but her performance as a Visually Impaired Apline champ is much more than that. It really is fascinating to watch. Viviane has 4 percent vision. She can't drive a car, but she can clock 120 kilometres per hour going down a hill.
