I can't stop thinking about Thriller. Everything about owning that cassette, my first, is so wickedly vivid it's bizzare. All I want to do is listen to Thriller over and over again from start to finish. To distract myself... I've been thinking of other cassettes that stand out in my mind as having a significant place in my memory. So here it is... my list of the greatest cassettes I've ever owned. Anything owned on vinyl or CD doesn't count.

1) Michael Jackson. Thriller. My first and all-time favourite.
2) Metallica. Master of Puppets. I would never rewind or fast forward to certain songs. I would always just listen to it from start to finish.
3) New Kids on the Block. No More Games. Lame? Some might say. I loved it.
4) Bonnie Tyler. Faster Than the Speed of Night. It was my sister's, and I only knew Total Eclipse of the Heart... but that was good enough for me.
5) Metallica. Ride the Lightning. I would listen to Fade to Black at least once a day.
6) Snap. I Got the Power. It wasn't even the entire album. It was one of those cassingles. For a brief period in my teens, I was pretty sure that I Got the Power was the greatest song ever written.
7) Corey Hart. Boy in the Box. This is sort of cheating as I owned both the album and the cassette, but my word did I love it. Ahh... Eurasion Eyes.
8) Judas Priest. Priest... Live!!! Yes, I was all over the map in my youth. I'm pretty sure this was all I listened to for 9 months straight at one point.
9) D.O.A. Let's Wreck the Party. It came out in 1985. The same year I started skateboarding. It was the only cassette I had ever seen in the pages of Thrasher magazine that I actually owned. I still know all the words.
10) MC Hammer. Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em. Yo! Sweetness.
