Glenlawn Collegiate presents Seusical the Musical. At the Glenlawn Collegiate Theatre, 770 St. Mary's Road from March 16th to 19th. Doors open at 6:30 Show starts at 7pm. Tickets are $10 adults and students $8 and are available at the door.

 

Helping Hands for Manitobans with Breast Cancer Inc. presents "Dancin' for Dollar$"featuring the live band "The Marvells" Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 8 p.m. at the Masonic Memorial Temple at 420 Corydon Avenue. Tickets are just $20 to get them call 256-7955 or 231-3487.

 

St. Mary Anglican Church in Charleswood will be holding a GIANT GARAGE / RUMMAGE SALE on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 27, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall at 3830 Roblin Boulevard at Haney (just over the Charleswood Bridge).  There will be WHITE ELEPHANT TABLES, BOOK TABLES, a FISH POND for KIDS, as well as household items, clothing and other miscellaneous treasures for sale.

 

The Forks Market will come alive with aerial antics, mind-boggling magic and some kooky clowning, as the Winnipeg International Children's Festival showcases its 10th annual Festival of Fools from Saturday March 27 to Saturday April 3, 2010. The entirely FREE festival features performances by magicians, clowns, jugglers, comedians and high strung aerial acts. Over the eight day festival, over 50 zany shows will take place as dozens of clowns of renown - turn frowns upside down!

 

Come out April 10th to see these two super acts perform together for a one night only event ! Dean Gunnarson "Worlds Greatest Escape Artist will be attempting to escape from a 240 litre drum of beer! This has never been done before, One night only! is your chance to see it done right here in Winnipeg at the Off Campus Social Club We are also proud to present " Mr, Lahey, Randy and Corey from the " Trailer Park Boys" Tickets are available at the frontdesk of the Express by Canad Inns 1792 Pembina Highway.

 

Come out and learn about the law. Law Day 2010, marks the 28th Anniversary of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and will feature an Open House at the Law Courts Building, 408 York Avenue on Sunday, April 18, 2010, from Noon to 3:30pm. Admission to the Open House is free of charge and includes guided tours of the Law Courts and Lock-Up, interactive exhibits and displays, student mock trials and debates in English and French, legal information panel discussions, and a special sitting of Citizenship Court. The law courts complex is a secured facility. As such, visitors will pass through a scanner similar to airport security. For more information contact the Manitoba Bar Association at 927-1210.

 

Students of the Kildonan East Collegiate Tanzania 2010 Humanitarian Project will be hosting their final Gourmet Fundraising Dinner on Wednesday April 21st, 2010 at the school, located at 845 Concordia Avenue, starting at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $40.00 each with a $30.00 tax receipt being issued. There will be a silent auction as well. For more information on this event, or to obtain tickets, please call the school at 667-2960. All proceeds raised from this dinner will go towards the Rain-Water Harvesting Project in Karatu, Africa.

Great Strides Walk for Cystic Fibrosis is Sunday, May 30, 2010 at St. Vital Park starting at 10am. It's a family day, fundraising walk and courtesy BBQ picnic.

 

Winnipeg Harvest feeds nearly 6 000 families every week. Their shelves are getting beare. They're looking for baby food, canned fish, poultry, fruit, veggies, soups, stews, chili, whole grain pasta, rice, and high fibre cereals. As well, for every donated dollar Harvest can leverage that to be worth $20 in food!

Metis Child, Family, and Community Services offer a variety of unique programs to support families and children. Currently, they are in desperate need of volunteers for the Family Mentor Program, Youth One to One Program, Volunteer Drivers, and Metis Spirit Program.
