H-Bomb

by Eduardo Rivadavia
One of France's scant contributions to '80s heavy metal, H-bomb was formed at the start of the decade in the town of Levri and released one album (1984's Attaque) and a pair of EPs (1983's Coup de Metal and 1986's To Feel Is Pain) containing vibrant, entertaining speed metal. Their style wasn't nearly groundbreaking enough to catapult them toward significant international recognition, but it's fair to say that vocalist Didier Izard, guitarists Mando Ferreira and Paul Ferreira, bassist Philty Garcia, and drummer Gerard Michel helped lay the foundations for their country's belated emergence as a heavy metal power in the next decade. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, All Music Guide
