Tani Tabbal

He's best known as the drummer for Roscoe Mitchell's Sight And Sound Ensemble, but Tani Tabbal has also added percussive support to David Murray's big band and various combos and to sessions featuring A. Spencer Barefield and Cassandra Wilson. Tabbal's a well drilled, frenetic and aggressive player, who's never failed to keep Mitchell's uptempo material soaring forward, and provide whatever changes in rhythmic pace and direction were needed. He has no sessions available as a leader, but can be heard on several Mitchell discs, as well as dates by Murray, Wilson and Barefield. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
