New York City's little known E-x-e produced two melodic speed metal albums (early power metal, if you will) for independent label Shatter Records, and then suffered the iniquities of having no promotional muscle to support them. First up, 1987's Stricken By Might was produced by Rods drummer Carl Canedy (also producer for the likes of Anthrax, Overkill, Exciter, etc.), contained the minor classic "Autopsy," and featured vocalist Joseph Palma, guitarists Rui Tavora and Adam Marigliano, bassist R.H. Boeckel, and drummer Charles Lopez. This same lineup except for Palma, who'd been replaced by the higher-pitched Tommy Lee Haley, returned three years later for the sophomore Sicker Than I Think, which displayed even faster tempos, but sold less copies, and precipitated the band's mostly unheralded demise. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, All Music Guide
