A fine advanced straight-ahead pianist, Rob Schneiderman has recorded several stimulating sets for Reservoir. He grew up in San Diego, and at age 16 was playing in clubs. Before moving to New York in 1982, Schneiderman picked up valuable experience playing with Charles Mcpherson and Eddie Harris. Since arriving in New York, the pianist has worked with many top musicians, including Zoot Sims, James Moody, Art Farmer, Chet Baker, Slide Hampton, and J.j. Johnson. In addition to his own solo records, Schneiderman has toured and recorded as part of the Tana Reid band. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
