The New York underground rock trio with sly progressive rock leanings does a fine collection of covers on this three-track release. The EP opens with Peter Tolley's "Sunshine"; the band lumbers through the anthem before a deceptive twist, diverting the song into a strangely familiar riff that occurs just on the fadeout. The B-side features guest vocals from The Lemonheads' Evan Dando on an exceptional reading of "To One in Paradise" and a witty instrumental run-through of Dave Brubeck's "Take 5," which is to say at least a little overindulgent.
