Tenor-saxophonist Illinois Jacquet teams up with organist Milt Buckner and drummer Alan Dawson for this live LP that has not yet been reissued on CD. The distinctive tenor roars through "Illinois Jacquet Flies Again" and "On A Clear Day," sounds warm on "Robbin's Nest" and "I Want A Little Girl" and is heard throughout in prime form. Buckner's heavy organ sound takes a bit of getting used to (this set would have been much better if he had been on piano) but he does push Jacquet to some fiery playing. Read More
