HOME RUN SPORTS URBAN HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Kerri Kuzbyt of the Sisler Spartans basketball team is this week’s Home Run Sports Urban High School athlete of the week. 

This 5’7” guard lead her team to the championship at the St. Mary Invitational.  She led all players with a 30.3 point per game average throughout the weekend.  Coach Michael Tan states, “Kerri is a hard working individual with a good understanding of the game.  She has learned how to make the other players around her better.  She has a strong work ethic and desire to continually improve her basketball skills”.

In grade 12, she maintains an average of 90% and also competes in soccer, track & field, and cross country.


TRI-STAR RURAL HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Amy Agnew of the Morden Thunder Curling team is this week’s Tri-Star Rural High School athlete of the week.

This 5’5” skip lead her curling team to their second straight Provincial final.  Last year they finished in second place, but, this year she won the championship with her final shot to secure the victory.  Agnew led her team to a 16-1 record on the season. Coach Bob Agnew States, “Amy had to draw to the eight foot to clinch the victory, and as consistent as she has been all season, she did just that for the win”.

This grade 12 student maintains an average of 85%.
